GRÜNENTHAL PHARMACEUTICAL (CHINA) CO., LTD

Grünenthal Pharmaceutical China (China) Co., Ltd. was established in 1997 as the first Asian affiliate of the Grünenthal GmbH.

With a long term vision for development in China, Grünenthal set up a modern, GMP approved manufacturing facility in the Zhongshan National Health Technology Park, Guangdong Province. Apart from producing medicines for the Chinese market and for export, Grünenthal also offers the service of manufacturing pharmaceutical products for other companies. The central offices are located in the economic centre of China, Shanghai; for regulatory and governmental affairs an office is maintained in Beijing.

Along with Grünenthal Hong Kong Ltd., which deals with activities related to imported products, a comprehensive pharmaceutical operation has been developed covering major cities throughout China.

Grünenthal offers innovative and high-quality products in China:

  • Tramal®, a centrally acting analgesic originated by Grünenthal and indicated for moderate to severe pain.
  • Megacillin®, Penicillin V from Grünenthal, indicated for different kinds of infections
  • Curosurf®, a lung surfactant, in-licensed by Chiesi/Italy, indicated for treatment (rescue) and prevention of Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS) in premature infants.
  • Broncho-Vaxom®, lyophilized Bacterial Lysates, indicated for Recurrent Respiratory Tract Infections

Grünenthal in China is a growing and developing organization which to date employs 175 people. The continuous growth of the operation shall be achieved by offering high quality medicines to the benefit of the Chinese population.
