Dr. Claus Recktenwald
Member of the Supervisory Board
Dr. Recktenwald was born in Bonn in 1959. After finishing school there and following a bank apprenticeship at Dresdner Bank AG in Cologne, he studied law in Freiburg and Bonn. He completed his studies as a junior barrister in Berlin with stations at the Federal Cartel Office and a commercial law firm in New York. During his doctoral studies, Dr. Recktenwald worked as a tutor of public law in Hannover and Göttingen.
He has been an attorney and partner at SCHMITZ KNOTH RECHTSANWÄLTE since 1990 focusing on industrial property, banking and corporate law.
Dr. Recktenwald is the chairman of the AnwaltVerein e.V. and of the supervisory board of SolarWorld AG, as well as the supervisory board of Solarparc AG in Bonn, and the deputy chairman of the supervisory board of Deutsche Solar AG and Sunicon AG in Freiberg, Saxony. Dr. Recktenwald is also a member of the supervisory board of VEMAG Verlags- und Medien AG in Cologne and was a supervisory board member at Wanderer-Werke AG in Augsburg until 2009.
