Dr. Ulrich Goldmann

Dr. Goldmann was born in Cologne on July 17, 1956. He studied medicine in Berlin and Munich and received his doctorate from Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich with the distinction magna cum laude. He practiced as an oncology research physician at Grosshadern University Hospital (Munich).
He occupied a number of different medical and commercial positions during his career in the industry, which began in 1988.

Dr. Goldmann has held managerial positions at Essex Pharma in Germany, and at a global level at Schering-Plough Corporation USA and Novartis Pharmaceuticals USA, among others.

In November of 2008, he joined the biotech company Genzyme Corporation in Cambridge, USA, where he heads the Global Medical Affairs division as Senior Vice President. This division comprises the Medical Affairs activities of all Genzyme business units worldwide. Dr. Goldmann is a member of the Genzyme Global Operating Team and the Global Clinical Development Team.
