Work and family

A good balance between work and private life is a decisive basis for satisfaction and long-term productivity from which employees and the company equally profit. We support our staff in fulfilling family and professional requirements and challenges to the same extent.

“If we want to succeed in the competition for talent, then we have to make compatibility of work and family actively possible. Therefore, a distinctly family-conscious human resources policy is a priority for us both operatively and in the context of our company’s culture.”

Leen Hofkens,

Head of Global Human Resources at Grünenthal

Kindergarten "Karlinis"

As an important cornerstone for improving compatibility of work and family for our employees in January 2015 Grünenthal, together with four other companies, built its own kindergarten close to the company near to the Aachen site for the care of 70 children, of which Grünenthal alone has 50 places.

The kindergarten offers five nursery groups with ten children each aged from six months to three years and one mixed age group with 20 children aged two years up to mandatory school age.

For organisational reasons we offer one fixed start date every year (01.08). The application is possible until 30 November. The confirmations will be sent by 31 January of the following year. Please use the drop-down application forms for registration.

Children’s holiday fun and games

Since 2010 Grünenthal has been providing children’s holiday fun and games in the summer and autumn holidays for employees’ children in cooperation with the Elternservice AWO.

Various activities for children aged 6-9 years and 10-15 years are offered. The programme is always very varied and is happily and well accepted by the children. It ranges from circus projects and a detective week to sport-themed weeks. In addition to sport, fun and games there are also exciting excursions in the surrounding region. In the past for example there were visits to the Odysseum interactive museum in Cologne and the “Bubenheimer Spieleland”.

In the summer holidays the children’s holiday fun and games cover a period of two weeks and in the autumn holidays one week. If you find that your special requirements are not covered here, we have made a link list below of public holiday care programmes.
