One example is the Aachen Hospice Dialogue, an established forum that has brought together healthcare professionals, researchers, policymakers, patient representatives, volunteers and other experts since 1995. What began as a regional network has evolved into a recognized annual congress that attracts participants from across Germany and neighboring countries.
As the event's main sponsor since 2006, Grünenthal supports the exchange of knowledge, perspectives and experiences that help advance discussions on the future of hospice and palliative care. At the 120th Aachen Hospice Dialogue, experts from healthcare, academia, politics and civil society discussed how communities can play a stronger role in supporting people at the end of life. Particular attention was given to new models of collaboration, community-based support structures and the question of how care systems can respond to growing societal and demographic challenges.
By bringing together diverse perspectives, the Aachen Hospice Dialogue contributes to ongoing discussions about how care systems can evolve to better support patients, families and communities.
