Responsibility Report 2024: ESG leadership in action

Explore how our shared commitment to sustainability and responsibility is shaping real progress across every part of the business.

In 2024, we made significant strides in our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) efforts. We reduced emissions from purchased energy by 83%, achieved 100% commitment to our opioid responsibility framework from all business partners, and saw women hold 42% of our leadership roles. We were also recognized with a low ESG risk rating. These accomplishments reflect the collective impact of our shared commitment to responsible business practices.

What makes this year’s Responsibility Report more significant?

Our Responsibility Report 2024 serves as a basis for the external recognition of our ESG leadership position. It serves as a vital reference for everyone who helps to shape our future, from employees and investors to partners and rating agencies. It plays a central role in how we are perceived, evaluated, and trusted on a global scale.

The launch of our Responsibility Report 2024 shows that responsibility is embedded in everything we do, across every team, every location, every day. This becomes especially clear when you look at the breadth of key topics addressed, ranging from climate change to research and development, from diversity and inclusion to business conduct. These specific topics reflect what matters most to our stakeholders and define how we create long-term value. They build the foundation of our Corporate Responsibility Programme around Patients, People, and the Planet.
