From courtside to courthouse, basketball lover and lawyer Sebastian Köhler knows how important it is to provide tailormade legal advice that matters for the business. He began his career as an attorney in an international law firm based in Germany in 2008, where he gained experience in every area of international corporate law, including cross-border large scale mergers and acquisitions, post-merger integration, carve-outs and restructuring. In 2015, he joined the medical device manufacturer BSN medical as Chief Legal Officer and EVP Global HR, where his responsibilities included the group’s Legal, Compliance and HR functions.

Sebastian joined Grünenthal in 2018 as our General Counsel. He is leading a global team dedicated to our legal, compliance, risk management, audit, patent and trademark activities, as well as our corporate citizenship team. In this role, he makes certain that we join forces to uphold the highest ethical standards – and that our business gets best in class quality of in-house governance advice we need to implement our strategy.
