People – How we work with employees, partners and communities

We provide a working environment that enables our employees to achieve their best performance – because everything they do contributes to improving patients’ lives. Grünenthal offers a variety of initiatives to strengthen its culture, foster trust, and promote diversity and inclusion. We focus on two key topics in this area: Own workforce and attractive employer.

Own workforce

Grünenthal’s employees are the basis for our success – and they make a valuable contribution to the lives of patients worldwide. We support their performance by placing a sharp focus on topics including health and wellbeing, employee engagement, and equity, diversity and inclusion.

Health and wellbeing

Maintaining and improving mental and physical health is essential for everyone. We provide employees with regular training and services to support physical, psychological and social health. We also have doctors and nurses present on several of our manufacturing sites.

Safety first

We have a clear goal concerning safety: VISION ZERO. This goal strives for zero accidents in the workplace and zero Lost Working Days due to accidents. At our manufacturing sites, for example, employees help to prevent accidents and correct potential issues by observing the safety behaviour of their colleagues and providing feedback.

Equity, diversity and inclusion

Our diversity and engagement strategy encompasses enhancing our diversity, driving conscious inclusion and positively impacting our local communities.

Inclusion at Grünenthal

Attractive employer

We want to create the best conditions for our employees – in their professional and personal environment. We provide a workplace where people can thrive in rich and varied roles, while also offering growth opportunities and an extensive range of benefits.

Corporate Citizenship

Improving quality of life for people and communities beyond our core business is a key part of our Corporate Responsibility Programme. It is important for us to make a meaningful contribution to the communities where we operate and to broader society.

Donations to relief projects

We believe it is our responsibility to support relief efforts. In 2023, Grünenthal donated €250,000 to help the people and communities affected by powerful earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. We also gave €50,000 to relief projects after landslides in São Paulo, Brazil, and wildfires in the south of Chile, which caused severe loss of life and property.
